Gaslighttour with double-decker bus

Come and visit with us some of the most beautiful gas-lit streets and squares of Berlin! Experience Berlin's worldwide unique gas lighting from the top deck of a double-decker bus, once from a very different perspective.

Our gaslight-tour starts every half hour from 21:30 o'clock directly from the shuttle stop at Luisenplatz near Schloss Charlottenburg (Route 3), duration approximately 30 minutes. Learn more about "Berlin's glittering treasures of the night"in an entertaining way, We are going to tell you something about

  • the history of the gaslighting in Berlin

  • where you can find gaslighting in Berlin of today

  • Berlin's characteristical Gaslamp Ensembles and their impressions in the Berlin cityscapet

  • functionallity and advantages of modern gas-lanterns

  • the various types of gaslamps in the streets of Berlin, whereby one recognizes it and much more

time table:
every half hour from 21:30 o'clock. directly from the shuttle stop at Luisenplatz near Schloss Charlottenburg (Route 3), duration approximately 30 minutes..

The tour starts and terminates at Luiseplatz, near to Schloss Charlottenburg.

Gaslighttour by bike

Many areas of Berlin you can't imagine without the gas lighting anymore. This time our tour leads us through the historic districts of Charlottenburg. By bike, we explore some of the most beautiful streets and squares illuminated by gaslight, an own bike is required. Learn in an entertaining way more about Berlin's "glittering treasures of the night".

We introduce you to the different forms and the history of Berlin's historic gas lights, will explain where the high quality of the gas light comes from and why gaslight is so ecologically friendly. We'll meet gas lamps wich masts are more than 100 years old and still completely intact. And you will get to know something about so-called Gaslichtsembles and their fundamental impact on the cityscape.

The commented part of our tour ends at Amtsgericht Charlottenburg. You have the possibillity to cycle back to the starting point with the organizers through beautiful gaslit roads around the park Lietzensee.

Timetable:
We start at 20:30 and at 21:30 Uhr o'clock from Kaiserdamm / Sophie-Charlotten-Str. in front of the house Kaiserdamm 12, Duration about 60 minutes.
